Introducing #ThumbsUpThursday: Capture, Share, and Get Published!

Are you passionate about photography? Do you love sharing your unique perspective through the lens? Then join our vibrant community and participate in #ThumbsUpThursday, a weekly photo competition that celebrates creativity and skill!

What is #ThumbsUpThursday?

Every Thursday, we launch a new challenge, inviting you to submit your best photos taken within the past week. It's a fantastic opportunity to showcase your talent, receive feedback, and potentially see your work published in our annual book!

How It Works:

  1. Weekly Submissions: Share as many photos as you like, taken between each Thursday.

  2. Authenticity Matters: We emphasise real photography. All entries must be genuine photos, and the winning entry's EXIF data will be verified. While AI-assisted editing is acceptable, pure AI-generated composites are not the focus of this competition.

  3. Diverse Genres Welcome: Whether you specialise in landscapes, seascapes, macro, street, wildlife, or any other genre, we encourage you to participate.

  4. Judging Process:

    • The previous week's winner will act as the judge for the current week.

    • A "Top 4" post will be posted every Friday, and the judge will announce their shortlisted selections.

    • At 8 PM every Friday the winning photo will be revealed on a "Winner" post.

  5. Publication: The winning photo will be featured in our annual book, available for purchase on Amazon. This is a unique opportunity to have your work professionally printed and shared with a wider audience.

  6. Charity Contribution: The book will be sold at cost price, with a small additional amount donated to charity.

  7. Submission Details: By entering, you agree to provide a high-resolution file of your winning photo, along with the photo’s title, camera settings, and a brief description.

Rules Summary:

  • Unlimited entries per week.

  • Photos must be taken between each Thursday.

  • EXIF data of the winning entry will be verified.

  • Previous week's winner judges the current week's entries.

  • Winning photo published in the annual book.

  • Pure AI generated images are not accepted.

  • At the end of September 2025 the admin team will collate the book.
